BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL FAMILY FOR P.E.A.C.E.!
WHAT IT TAKES TO HOST
ccc
P.E.A.C.E. looks for:
Warm, friendly, and loving families with the flexibility to include a new son or daughter into their life-style and circle of love;
ccc
Families with an open-minded curiosity about the attitudes and cultures of people from other lands;
ccc
Families with a fierce pride in their American heritage and a desire to share with others what it means to them;
ccc
People challenged to bring the world community in closer harmony by cementing the bond of family across barriers of language, race, and national borders.
ccc
THE SIZE, WEALTH, OR AGE OF HOST FAMILY MEMBERS ARE OF MINOR CONSIDERATION IN THE EQUATION.
ccc
STUDENTS HAVE BEEN HAPPILY PLACED IN FAMILIES WITH SMALL CHILDREN, NO CHILDREN AND EVEN SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES.  THIS MAY BE THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE YOUR CHILD THE BROTHER OR SISTER THEY HAVE ALWAYS WANTED!
ccc
FAMILY COUNSELING
ccc
 Our counselor is bilingual and bicultural, and has a great rapport with the students.
cccccc
From the time of your first inquiry, whether it be by phone to P.E.A.C.E. headquarters or in person with an area representative you will always be in the hands of competent personnel who can counsel your family from experience.

FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide all meals and a separate bed.  A separate room is not required, provided there is enough storage area for personal belongings and that your student can have some privacy.
ccc
To be patient and attendant to your student's needs and feelings.  He or she will struggle to adjust to a new and exciting, but sometimes lonesome and frightening environment, different to which he or she is accustomed.
ccc
To provide opportunities for your student to learn as much as possible about the USA, our life-styles, cultural diversity, political history and Christian Heritage.
ccc
AND MOST OF ALL - the easiest part - IS TO LOVE THEM AS YOUR OWN!

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

ccc
To a be a full member of your family, he or she should be given routine chores, such as keeping his/her room clean and neat - as well as sharing light duties with other members of the family, like washing dishes or taking out the trash.  Students should not be expected, however, to become full-time baby-sitters, housekeepers, or farm hands.
